Barking Boaters

Barking Boaters was established in early 2007 by a dedicated bunch of local people who saw an opportunity to exploit this extremely varied river that separates Barking & Dagenham from the London Borough of Newham. After frequently kayaking down the River Roding in canoes for a number of years they wanted to see if they could turn their hobby into a way to make a living!

After attending a business start-up course and with the aid of a £1,000 start-up grant from the Barking & Dagenham Small Business Centre (BDSBC), Barking Boaters was finally born on the 10th July 2007. We are currently based in small offices on the banks of the River Roding on 243 Hertford Road, Barking, IG5 9DQ, just north of the Roding Trading Estate.
